
As a high-schooler at Milton High School, Brant had batting averages of
.432, .390, and .450 during his three seasons on the Varsity Baseball
team. He also hit 17 home runs while setting the Milton High RBI record
with 101 over his career.

Following his illustrious prep career,
he went to Florida State University on a baseball scholarship. He
played two years for the Seminoles (2004 - 05), hitting over
.300 both seasons with six home runs and 40 RBI's. He also played in
two NCAA Super Regional series as a Seminole. During this time, his teams were led by the third winningest coach in NCAA Division I baseball history, Mike Martin.

His final year of
collegiate baseball came at Coastal Carolina University in 2006. He
finished third on the team with a .291 batting average, 31 RBI's and 5
home runs.
